Cryosurgery |
| Cryosurgery
utilizes the selective, controlled application of low
temperature in order to devitalize pathological tissue.
When temperatures of below -50° C are reached, a
100% rate of necrosis is considered certain. Biological
tissue is irreversibly destroyed. This effect on cell
biology is caused by the intracellular formation of
ice crystals with damage to cell membranes.

| ERBE
CRYO 6 |
 |
The ERBE's CRYO
6 is a high-performance cryosurgery system powered
by liquid nitrogen. The system requires only a
minimum time for installation and can then be
immediately utilized.
The operating pressure necessary to produce the
freezing process is generated with the help of
a submersible nitrogen pump (newly developed by
ERBE). Thanks to this technology, the system does
not require a large pressure tank.
The CRYO 6 System is light and flexible and can
also be used for mobile applications. It is not
necessary to interrupt operation of the system
during treatment even if the nitrogen store requires
replenishment. Both the operating pressure necessary
for freezing and the defrosting time are regulated
automatically.

| ERBOKRYO
CA |

|
The cryosurgical
System ERBOKRYO ® CA has been developed for
all treatments. It uses the Joule-Thompson principle
where pressurized gas expands through a fine orifice
producing a rapid drop in temperature and freezing
the probe tip and the surrounding tissue.
The freezing cycle is started by pressing the
footswitch. In approx. 5 seconds the minimum freezing
temperature of approx. - 80° C, -176°
F) is reached. After release of the footswitch
the freezing cycle stops automatically and the
defrost cycle starts, defrosting the cryoprobe
within 5 seconds without electric heating (non
electric). |

12 "Cryo Gun" |
 |
The ERBOKRYO
12 (also called the "Cryo Gun") is very
easy to use and takes the worry out of moving
from one location to another.
The ERBOKRYO 12 uses either nitrous oxide (N20)
or carbon dioxide (C02) from a gas bottle. We
can also deliver a gas bottle trolley for mobile
use or a simple wall mounting which holds both
the gas bottle and the "Cryo Gun" for
stationary use. A cover for a gas cylinder is
also available. |
|
| ERBOKRYO-DERM |
 |
In modern cryosurgery
complete tissue destruction is carried out using
sprayfreezing and contact freezing with liquid
nitrogen (-196° C). With an operating pressure
of 400 mbar the ERBOKRYO-DERM easily achieves
the freezing speed and temperature necessary for
cryo-devitalization. |
